Quilfish Posts: 202 Group: Members Member #30 Joined: Oct 28, 2008	Heh. Character name, probably Jon. I've always used this name since GSC. There's actually a history behind the name. ... It just so happened that I "discovered" Pokemon games while I was 14 (yeah, kinda late :P). First game was GSC. When Professor Oak asked, I thought about putting up a made-up name, but then I saw the name "JON" from one of the given options. I picked that up. And have been using that name since, for RSE, and DPPt. Even in my Zelda games, I always name myself Jon. Guess I got hooked to that particular name. XD It's simple and short. Rival... No idea yet. Sometimes I picked the antagonist from the story (as in LG, I named him Gary) or probably random names (my rival in DPPt was Henry. XP) or more random names (once in GSC someone got the nickname "n00b". XDD)

I will name her after this character: (Poke-fan artist Michikusa's attempt at replicating manga artist Shigekatsu Ihara's style.) "Who is that girl in the picture?" Salon Maiden Anabel, as portrayed in Shigekatsu Ihara's manga, "Pocket Monsters Emerald: Challenge!! Battle Frontier." Just remove the bow from Kotone's big hat, and you get the hat of "that girl" in the image. At least, that's how I see it. 2) As for the rival... I'll probably name him Adriel or ???. I'm still deciding, though.

I'll still play as a girl. I'll probably name her Remi. It sounds less Mary-Sue-ish than Luna (No offense, Lunar). As for the rival, I remember naming him Talon once. It comes from "CrysTAL." I'll probably go with naming him Talon again.

SILVER because that's the actual name of your rival, or PLATINA because that's my rival in Platinum, Diamond, and a few others.

Or I might use whatever their official names are. ...This is what I've planned so far, anyways: The female protagonist (in HeartGold) will be called Lyra. Lyra Pallant, if you want her full name, although that hardly matters, I guess. The male protagonist (in SoulSilver) will be called Ethan. Ethan Allington, if you care. And the Rival (in both games) will be called Trique. "Tri" from "triple", and "que" from "question mark", a reference to his "???"-name in the original games.

I usually don't play around with my characters name until later. I'm now old enough to not give my rival an immature name like "Poo", "Dipstick", "Ginger" (funny story behind that one), and other such explict names that I thought up during my glorious youth. I'll probably end up going with the names they give you, since I could really care less what my rival is called.

Still leaning towards keeping OSKE, but a change might be nice.
