And there is the sad state of affairs that our automobile industry is in. Where only the rich get decent cars and everyone else is a slave to fuel mileage, whether they actually give a damn about it or not.

Really, a carmaker could make a killing in that market if everyone wasn't so paranoid about the MPG number. It's almost like that's the only number that matters anymore, and because of it there is not one new car I would consider buying today.
Not even some of the new Buicks? o.o

I really don't like their current fleet as much as their older models. They're doing away with the Lucerne after 2010, which means there won't be a single full-size car in Buick's fleet after this model year.

Really? o.o What about the LaCrosse?

It's a midsize. I hear that it has a lot of room inside but it comes at the cost of trunk space.

1985 was my favorite model year for the LeSabre, BTW.

Interesting...

New topic: Diesel Cars

Some cars out there such as trucks and large SUVs run on Diesel. Then there are people who are 'earth-friendly'. Do you think that Diesel cars should be removed off the roads? Explain your rationale. (I wanted to say that so badly. :P )

I refuse to drive any car with a foreign nameplate.
Why so? Pride in being American or do you feel that American cars are more dependable and less-costly in the long run?

It's a family thing. We've always owned American cars, and I'm not gonna be the one to break tradition.

Plus, I've always preferred their styling, even the cars themselves aren't as refined.

Ah, that's cool. Any particular American car company you're looking into? Chevy, Buick?

I love cars and can talk about cars like crazy.

For my cars are split into 3 major groups, America, Europe and Asia.
All 3 groups have their good and bad points overall.

Hit me with a question and I'll give you my opinion :)

European > All
^-^' There are a lot of manufacturers and over 100 cars in the European end, is there any chance you could narrow it down to a manufacturer or car model?

I own a Ford Fiesta MK5 Zetec like this one.

This isn't my car and mine has black tinted windows with a chrome grill.

Specifically, my favorite European car is the BMW 7-series, particularly, the E66 extended-wheelbase, which is the 745Li. The 745Li was released between the years 2002 and 2005.

^ That version of 7 series this one of the more reliable, comfortable and finest cars that came out of BMW.

I couldn't own one no thanks to my insurance company, even with a clean driving license and no insurance claims.

Well, let's move on. Your thoughts on the Toyota recalls and the further problems they are experiencing?

Toyota have had a list of problems.

1. Sticking throttle cable / pedal.
2. Breaks that don't work or suddenly don't work.
3. Steering issues.

It's a big hit to there reputation that will take time to get there rep back up.

Mini have had problems with the power steering pump failure and Vauxhall had done a recall for some models that have a 'unstable steering connection' which makes me worry of people's safety.

Other manufacturers are doing checks over there cars so they don't have the same sort of problems like Toyota and Vauxhall which is understandable.
It's almost like the manufacturers are getting sloppy on build quality for selling numbers instead of reliability over profits.

The way I see it, Toyota wanted to make an easy profit of the United States, which worked up until these issues arose. They got what they deserved for attempting to cover up these problems for the past few years. :-/
